Course Maintenance update (Wednesday)

Course Maintenance update (Wednesday)

Once again the weather hasn’t played ball!! Another 15mm last night with a further 12 mm throughout the day has made me scratch my head on several occasions!! This maintenance week so far has been mentally and physically tough, but we will not back down!

So with all this rain what have managed to do today?

  1. Verti drained all Alliss greens.
  2. Cored and collected tees 1-5 on the Alliss (rain stopped play)
  3. Verti drained 15th fairway and started the 4th fairway.
  4. Finished solid tining our drier fairways.
  5. Solid tined Greens and aprons 6,7,8
  6. Top dressed by hand greens 1, 5, 6, 7 ,8, 9 (absolutely painful)
  7. Weeded some fairway bunkers.
  8. Trimmed our heather back to 6 inches (looks unreal)

This weather won’t beat us and we will keep going, it does mean that our maintenance schedule will stretch into next week but this work will put us in good shape over the winter months.

The maintenance will continue at 6 a.m. on Friday morning.  Tomorrow looks like a complete write-off and the team has earned enough hours this week to stay at home tomorrow to rest up and come back fighting on Friday morning as it looks dry at the moment.

Your next report will be on Friday evening.

Thank you

Danny
