Norman's Way

Normans Way!

We are delighted to open the new pathway leading from the Alliss 2nd hole (a tough par 3, over a stream) to the Alliss 3rd Tee and onwards to the fairway of this lovely par 4 hole. The new pathway is part of an ongoing improvement programme to the Alliss Course, which has been transformed in the last year by Danny Murray, Courses Manager and his green keeping team, including Chris Brewin-Bland on the digger! Improvements have included new Tees at the 1st, 2nd and now the 3rd hole. The quality of the greens on the Alliss course now match and on occasions exceed the wonderful putting surfaces members enjoy on the Old Course.

It was fitting that Norman Thomas, Past Captain, President and Trustee should cut the ribbon on the latest improvement initiative. Norman, at the sprightly age of 93 still enjoys several rounds a week on the Alliss Course and after 55 years as a member of Ferndown Golf Club commented..."The Alliss course is playing the best I have known"

We believe we have the best 9-hole course in Dorset to compliment the leading 18 hole heathland course. Visitors are most welcome to play the Alliss Course. Please contact the Professional shop on 01202 653951 to arrange your visit.
