The Parkin Cup final was played on Sunday at Weymouth against Broadstone.
Our team of Pauline Ward, Sara Lees and Helen Bridgman did Ferndown proud but on this occasion, we were the runner-up.

We've retained the Humphreys bowl for the 3rd consecutive year. Not a feat achieved before by Ferndown Ladies !
The team have played superbly, all season beating off some stiff competition from Remedy, Parkstone, Hockley and Highpost in our scratch knockout competitions.
Some fantastic golf played by all to get us to finals and topped off Sunday with fabulous golf to beat Broadstone in the Dorset Ladies Humphreys bowls scratch final!

The sun shone and it was a glorious day for golf with a Hole In One to round the day by Lee Hudson from Blackmoor Golf Club on the 14th!!
I am delighted to confirm that we had a field of 114 players and the winning score of 40 points was won by Ferndown member Kevin Mace.
The Competition has been finalised and scores are attached for your perusal. The Prize list (vouchers) contains an Overall (won by a member) plus 7 Visitor Prizes, 2 Member prizes and Hole in One on the 14th.

Ellen Yates and Ben Brown were crowned women's and men's 2023 Amateur Champions after a mesmerising final day at Ferndown Golf Club.
The men's and women's semi-finals threw up four tight battles which went to the final or penultimate holes, before the afternoon's two finals both required two play-off holes to determine a winner.

What started as an outline idea a year ago finally came to fruition last Friday. As the day neared the weather forecast kept on getting worse and on the day we knew what we were in for and it wasn't going to be good! 20 ladies took part in an activity and a small team of supporters made sure that the day ran smoothly. These determined ladies of Ferndown GC were not going to let the rain spoil the day. If we needed extra inspiration the baton used was a 2012 Olympics baton!
