Ferndown Golf Club Charity Annual Wheelchair Presentation

Ferndown Golf Club Charity CIO Marks 40th Year

Annual Wheelchair Presentation

On Friday, Ferndown Golf Club Charity CIO held its annual presentation of wheelchairs and mobility aids, bringing together local supporters and community members to celebrate the charity’s ongoing impact.

The event highlighted the vital work the charity has carried out for four decades, providing mobility support to individuals in the community and helping them maintain independence and quality of life.

This year is particularly special, as 2026 marks the Alliss Invitational Charity Golf Day's 40th anniversary. Over the years, the organisation has distributed over £1.5 million worth of wheelchairs, sensory equipment and mobility aids, funded through local fundraising initiatives and the annual charity golf day.

While this year’s charity golf day is already fully booked, businesses and individuals still have the opportunity to sponsor a hole or make a donation to support the charity’s work. Those interested are encouraged to contact Sue Helliker in the office for more information.

The Captain’s selected charity is Abby’s Heroes, which supports patients at Southampton Hospital, while the Ladies Captain’s chosen charity is MyTime4YoungCarers, a local charity supporting young carers in the community.

FGC and the Charity Trustees expressed their gratitude to everyone who attended the presentation and contributed to the charity’s work, emphasising that community support remains essential to continue making a real difference in people’s lives.

For more information on how to sponsor a hole or make a donation, contact the office.
