Fundraising for Ladies' Captain's Charity!

Fundraising for Ladies' Captain's Charity!

My chosen charity this year is The John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation (JTYAF).

The JTYAF was set up in memory of John Thornton who was tragically killed in Afghanistan in 2008. John lived his dream and died doing the job he loved. The JTYAF provides opportunities for young people to help them develop as individuals and fulfil their ambitions in life as John did. The aim of the John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation is to encourage and assist young people to ‘climb as high as they can dream.’ Whatever their dream, they hope to help them achieve it.

On Friday 14th July, myself and fellow lady members of Ferndown Golf Club along with John's mum Linda will be taking part in a Triathlon but with a twist.

The team will meet at Ferndown Golf Club and run the baton 5K to Moors Valley Country Park. Here another team will pick up the baton and take on the Go Ape Tree Top Challenge.

This is the biggest Go Ape high ropes experience and is certain to put a few nerves to the test (especially John’s mum, Linda, who has a fear of heights!). The ladies will soar between the trees on thrilling zip-wire rides and finish with the Tarzan Swing finale! The baton will then be passed to the final team.

The last leg will be a 5-mile cycle, finishing back at Ferndown Golf Club.

Your generous support for this wonderful charity is very much appreciated and support on the day is very welcome.

Many thanks to Go Ape at Moors Valley for their support of this challenge.

Please revisit the Just Giving page as the team's photos will be uploaded and can be viewed under View Gallery.
