Around 80 of our Lady members were present on Thursday 13th June to celebrate Ladies’ Captain’s Day. Two competitions were played out on a day in which the weather didn’t quite live up to expectation for what is supposedly “June”.
On the old course the ladies were in groups of three playing a stableford rumble where 2 of 3 scores counted. They went out in a shotgun at 8.30am and waterproofs were a necessity. However, the Ladies battled through the poor conditions and some magnificent golf was played, and the course itself stood up well to the wet weather so it was still enjoyable for the Ladies. In terms of scoring, there was a three-way tie for second place which saw Carole Kerley, Anna Castley and Linda Harper take 2nd on countback with 70 points. The winners on the day with a fantastic 79 points were Megan Thompson, Diane Thompson and Julie Hughes who took home some great prizes. On the Alliss course, Janet Robertson came on top to take the top prize.
After the golf the Ladies’ enjoyed a buffet lunch provided by our catering team followed by prize giving and it was a great way to round off the day and celebrate Linda as Captain for the year. It was a lovely day enjoyed by all, notwithstanding the weather.
Photos for the day have been uploaded onto the clubs Flickr account and a selection of images are going to be uploaded onto the club’s Instagram in the next few days.

Thankyou to Linda for organising a great day and good luck to the Ladies’ for the rest of the year!
