General Manager
Chris Huggins

After starting my career as a PGA Professional in 2002 where I enjoyed playing and coaching, I moved into golf club management in 2010. I was appointed General Manager at Ferndown Golf Club in March 2023, a year that sees the club hosting the English Amateur Championship and for the next five years being an R&A Regional Open Qualifying venue.  The team and I look forward to welcoming you to the club and hope you enjoy your time with us as we strive to be ‘ the best heathland golf experience in the southwest.’

Assistant General Manager
Sue Helliker

Sue Helliker, Assistant General ManagerI joined the club in 2002, after spending 14 years across the road at the De Vere Dormy Hotel.

As well as looking after members and the clubs social activities I am the main point of contact for those visiting the club from a 4 ball to a corporate golf day. One of the highlights of the club year is the annual Peter Alliss Charity golf day which I have been running for the past 29 years (at the De Vere previously) raising over £1.2 million pounds in that time. The other busy times are our Festival Open weeks in May and August when we welcome over 1000 visiting golfers. I look forward to helping you with any enquiries.

Club Operations Assistant

Emily Furniss

I started golfing when I was 12 and my love for the game only grew stronger. Joining my first golf club soon after my 13th birthday I started playing in regular competitions, moving from grassroots to the England U18 development squad. I am a graduate of Bournemouth University, where I studied for a BSc (Hons) Sports Management degree and I have been a Young Ambassador for England Golf and the Golf Foundation for five years, gaining experience in events, disability sports and junior golf. I look forward to bringing this knowledge and experience to Ferndown Golf Club’s operations and welcoming everyone to the club.
